Commercial Master Key Systems

Define access before ordering keys

A master key system should begin with a written plan: which doors each role may open, which areas stay separate and who may authorize new keys. A simple hierarchy can include change keys for individual openings, group masters and a higher-level key where appropriate.

Check the existing cylinders

Not every cylinder can join the same system. Brand, keyway, pinning capacity, condition and existing restrictions affect compatibility. Worn or mixed hardware may need replacement before a useful hierarchy can be built.

Control keys after installation

Keep a record of issued keys, key numbers, recipients and returned keys. Decide who may request duplicates. A master key adds convenience but also increases the impact of a lost high-level key, so storage and authorization procedures matter.

Plan for future changes

Provide a door list, access groups and expected growth. Call 346-777-8777 to discuss whether the existing hardware can support the plan and to request an estimate.
